Choosing a preschool is one of the most important decisions a parent will ever make. Long before curriculum, schedule, or even location, you look for something deeper: knowing your child is in a safe and supportive environment.
We work hard every day to give you the confidence to say:
“I can count on a community that supports my family and helps my child grow with confidence. My child is safe, loved, and cared for.”
Nothing is more important than your child’s safety for us here at Kid’s Day Daycare & Preschool. Safety is at the heart of everything we do.
That’s why we are sharing a brief intro to our official Parent Handbook, where our daily procedures and safety protocols are described in detail, to give families peace of mind.
A safe, nurturing environment doesn’t just protect children — it helps them feel confident, secure, and ready to explore the world around them.
1. Our Commitment to Your Child’s Safety Begins Long Before They Enter the Classroom
Safety at Kid’s Day starts the moment your child arrives each morning.
Children may:
- Be picked up with an adult who presents a valid ID, or provides a confidential code, unique for each adult who may pick up a child. All pickups must be previously authorized by you – mom or dad – ONLY.
- Be released to another caregiver only with written parental notice.
Daily attendance records are maintained and used during evacuation drills to ensure every child is accounted for in case of emergency.
These protocols are not optional — they are essential layers of protection that prevent unauthorized access and ensure accountability throughout the day.
2. Monitored and Prepared Environment
Safety also means being ready for the unexpected.
Kid’s Day maintains:
- Emergency exit plans posted in every classroom
- Regular evacuation drills conducted without prior notice
- Emergency backpacks containing:
- Parent contact information
- Authorization for emergency medical care
- First aid supplies
- Attendance tracking during emergencies
- CPR and First Aid-trained staff in every classroom
In case of evacuation or relocation, parents are immediately notified with situation details, relocation location, pickup instructions, and ID requirements for release. This ensures fast communication, coordinated response, and uninterrupted care — even during unexpected events.
3. Health & Wellness Protocols That Protect the Entire Classroom

Children’s safety also includes preventing illness and maintaining a healthy environment.
Every child receives a visual health assessment upon arrival to identify:
- Changes in behavior or appearance
- Signs of illness
- Skin rashes
- Injury
- Fever symptoms
- Possible contagious conditions
Children who cannot safely participate in daily activities — including outdoor play — may not be admitted for care that day.
Additionally:
- Changing areas are disinfected after each diaper change
- Gloves are used during all diaper changes
- Children must remain fever-free before returning
- Antibiotic treatment must begin prior to readmission
Our approach is intentionally conservative — because protecting the entire classroom community is a shared responsibility.
4. Caring, Vetted Teachers & Staff You Can Trust
Your child’s safety ultimately depends on the adults who care for them each day.
At Kid’s Day:
- Staff receive ongoing training on child safety and awareness
- Classroom staff are trained in CPR and First Aid
- Positive discipline practices PROHIBIT corporal punishment
- Behavior management plans are developed collaboratively with families when needed
This ensures children are supported in a respectful, emotionally secure environment — where safety includes both physical protection and compassionate guidance.

5. Thoughtful Routines That Promote Emotional Security

Young children thrive in environments where routines are predictable.
Our daily schedules include:
- Personal greetings from teachers
- Structured activity times
- Supervised resting periods
- Regular outdoor play
Everything is designed to help children:
- Build trust
- Develop independence
- Feel calm and secure
Predictable routines reduce anxiety and create a sense of stability that supports emotional well-being and safe exploration.
6. Ongoing Parent Communication for Transparency
Open communication is essential to maintaining safety and trust between families and caregivers.
Through our parent communication app, families receive:
- Daily reports of classroom experiences
- Health notifications
- Emergency alerts
- Menu updates
- Behavior or incident reports
Parents may also:
- Update emergency contacts at any time
- Visit the facility during operating hours
- Review written records concerning their child
Cameras are also present in each classroom and on each playground, and parents may review footage by request.
Transparency builds partnership — and partnership strengthens safety.
7. Clean, Organized Spaces Designed for Children
From family-style meal service to organized classroom environments, every detail of our facility is designed with safety in mind.
- Hot foods are kept out of reach
- Closed-toe shoes are required for daily play
- Personal belongings are labeled to avoid loss
- First aid kits accompany all field trips and are present during every playtime
Even celebrations are planned to minimize disruption of routines and prevent hazards such as choking risks or unsafe materials.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Your child’s safety and happiness are our top priorities.
At Kid’s Day, safety is not defined by a single policy or system, but by a comprehensive approach that includes trained staff, secure procedures, daily health checks, emergency preparedness, thoughtful routines, and transparent communication.
We understand the trust you place in us each day — and we honor it by creating a safe, nurturing environment where your child can learn, grow, and thrive.
